# Shopify: overview

> Run your VEXiON cards loyalty program on your Shopify store, so customers earn and redeem online with the same cards they use in store.

Connecting VEXiON cards to your **Shopify** store brings your loyalty program online. Shoppers earn points on their orders, redeem rewards straight from the cart, and use the **same loyalty card** they already have in your Apple or Google Wallet, whether they buy online or in person.

## What the Shopify integration is

It links your VEXiON cards loyalty program to your Shopify online store. Once connected, everything runs automatically at checkout, with nothing to scan.

* **One card, online and in store.** A customer's loyalty card works the same on your Shopify store as it does at the till.
* **Earn on every order.** Points are added automatically when a member's order is paid. They count on the products, not on shipping. Shopify gift cards a customer buys earn no points: the points come when the gift card is spent. A refund or cancellation takes back the points for the products it refunds. A refund of shipping only changes no points.
* **Redeem in the cart.** Customers apply their reward, discount, or gift-card balance before they check out. A refund or cancellation gives back the points or gift-card balance used on the products it refunds. One order uses one of them, never two. An order paid partly with gift-card balance earns no points.
* **On your storefront.** A floating loyalty button and an in-cart panel show customers their balance and let them redeem, without leaving your store.
* **Set once, per card.** Earn rate, point value, and tiers come from the card you already built in VEXiON cards. You do not re-enter them for Shopify.

## The three things it can do

The integration exposes three loyalty mechanics, and you turn on the ones you want.

| **Tier discount** | A percentage off, based on their tier. Applied automatically when it is the only mechanic turned on. | A Discount card |

>
> **Cashback can have levels.** If your cashback card has levels, customers earn **faster as they move up** (a higher multiplier at a higher tier), and the storefront shows their tier and progress toward the next one. It is still the same **Cashback rewards** mechanic, just a card with levels behind it. > **One benefit per order.** In a single order a customer either **earns** points or **redeems** a benefit, never both. This mirrors how the card works at the till.

## Requirements

| Requirement | Detail |

| Shopify store | An active Shopify store |
| VEXiON cards account | An active VEXiON cards account with admin access |
| A loyalty card | At least one eligible card (a cashback Reward card, a Discount card, or a Gift card) |

>
> Shopify is a **PRO** feature. For merchants already on VEXiON cards, it is a **free extra channel** included in your plan, there is no separate Shopify charge. If you installed VEXiON from the Shopify App Store, your subscription is billed by Shopify, and you manage the plan on the app's pricing plans page in your Shopify admin. ## Getting started

**1. Connect your store**

In **Settings → Integrations**, open **Shopify** (shown to accounts where Shopify is enabled) and connect your store. See [Connecting your store](https://vexioncards.mintlify.site/knowledge-base/shopify-setup.md).

**2. Choose your loyalty mechanics**

Turn on cashback rewards, tier discount, and/or gift-card balance, and pick the card behind each. See [Configuring loyalty](https://vexioncards.mintlify.site/knowledge-base/shopify-configuration.md).

**3. Show loyalty on your storefront**

Add the floating launcher, the in-cart block, the product earn badge, and the loyalty panel in your Shopify theme editor.

**4. Done**

Customers now earn and redeem on your store automatically.
