The Custom Fields tab under Settings lets you add your own questions to the customer sign-up form, on top of the built-in ones (name, email, phone, date of birth). Use them to capture whatever matters to your business, a favourite drink, a shoe size, a preferred branch. This tab is for admins.

A custom field is created once and can then be reused across any of your cards.

Creating a field

Click Create Custom Field and set:
  • Field Name: what the field is called (this is how you identify it later).
  • Field Type, one of:
    • Text: a short free-text answer.
    • Text Area: a longer free-text answer.
    • Number: a number. You choose Whole numbers only or Decimals allowed.
    • Currency: an amount of money.
    • Date: a date (you can choose how precise, for example full date or just month).
    • Select: a single choice from a list of options you define.
    • Multi-Select: several choices from a list you define.
    • Yes / No: a yes or no answer.
For Select and Multi-Select, you add the list of options the customer can pick from. Each field you create appears as a row with its name, a usage note, a type badge, and an Active badge, with edit and delete icons alongside it. You can have up to 50 active custom fields. A field that is used on a card cannot be deleted. Remove it from all cards first.
Once created, add a custom field to a card’s sign-up form when creating or editing that card. The customer then sees it when they enrol, and staff can see it when adding a customer.
Keep the sign-up form short. Every extra field is one more thing between a customer and their card, so only ask for what you will actually use.
