What happens while paused
- Billing stops. You are not charged while your account is paused.
- Your cards stay read-only. They stay in your customers’ wallets and keep every balance, but nobody can collect or redeem until you resume. This is intentional: you are not running the program during the break.
- Your dashboard is read-only too. You can look at everything, but you cannot change it until you resume.
- The scanner is locked. Staff cannot scan until you resume.
- Your POS gives no stamps, points or discounts until you resume. Gift cards can still be used.
- API keys and AI assistants are refused. They get a 403 error with the code
organization_pauseduntil you resume. - Days you have already paid for are not credited. The pause starts today. Pausing does not change your billing cycle and creates no credit or refund. On an annual plan nothing is refunded or shortened.
- Nothing is deleted. All your cards, customers, transactions, and settings are preserved.
Pausing and resuming
From the Billing tab, use Pause account. Your account status changes to Paused. When you are ready to reopen, use Resume. Billing restarts at your next regular billing date, with no catch-up charge and no credit. Your cards reactivate, and everything picks up exactly where it left off. You can also pause after you have cancelled, while your subscription is still running to the end of the period. On the cancelling card, use Pause instead. The cancellation is withdrawn and your account is paused. See Cancelling your subscription.
A paused account on the Billing tab
Pausing is the right choice when you plan to come back. If you are closing for good, see Cancelling your subscription instead. And if you truly want to remove everything, that is Delete Account, a separate, permanent action.
